Protecting personal information and using it in a manner consistent with member expectations is a high priority for everyone associated with The Credit Union.
To ensure that members can rely upon quality service and personal confidentiality, The Credit Union has established the following privacy policy:
- The Credit Union will collect only the personal information that is necessary to conduct our business. This is information that is necessary to provide competitive financial products and services.

- Information we receive from consumer reporting agencies, such as your credit history.
- The Credit Union will protect its members’ personal information. Our credit union will maintain strong security controls to ensure that member information in our files and computers is protected. Where necessary, we will use security-coding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of communications and transactions, and protect member confidentiality.
- Our internal confidentiality policy states that employees will not disclose information about the Credit Union, its members, suppliers, or employees during the course of employment, except as permitted by law.
- Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. Those who violate our Privacy Policy will be subject to discipline.
- We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about members to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing member data.
- We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to safeguard member nonpublic personal information and privacy.
- We will only share information with non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.
- We do not and will not sell mailing lists or the financial information of our membership. We do however share certain information in the course of providing and administering the products and services used.
- We will share information with service providers to complete transactions and maintain accounts and related records (such as data processors or check printers). We also share information with select nonaffiliated third parties if you request or authorize it; if the information is provided to a consumer reporting agency in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act or the disclosure is otherwise required by law. Examples of service providers are financial institutions providing services on our behalf, our data processing vendors, collection companies, statement mailers, check printers or other non-affiliated third party entities as permitted by law.
- We will share information when required to do so by the government (such as disclosures made to the Internal Revenue Service, Credit Union examiners and other authorized governmental agencies).
- We will share information with reputable nonaffiliated third parties to give you access to products you have requested that are not directly offered by The Credit Union, at an often reduced cost (for example as a Credit Union member you are eligible to receive special group rates on long term care insurance through CUNA Mutual). To protect our members’ privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality and limit the use of information we provide to carry out the joint marketing specified. Examples of these service providers include mailing operations providers, insurance companies and other non-affiliated third parties as permitted by law.
- If a member terminates their membership with The Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about the member, except as permitted or required by law.
- We may collect non-public personal information from non-members. We will not share this information except as permitted by law.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY
